The big activity for the day was a trip to Union Grove Distillery for drinks. At this point, bars & restaurants hadn’t closed, but it was still a little unnerving to visit public locations. Fortunately, there was only one other party there, so we got drinks and picked up a pizza next door and had a lovely lunch outside.

At some point, Anne & Patrick applied for a very cute rescue pup named Bong Joon-Ho that appeared to be part Husky and part Shiba Inu! After years of talking about getting a dog, it felt like now was the right time.

That night, Anne & Patrick received an alert from the Hoboken Mayor (our boy Ravi) saying that a 10pm curfew was being instated and that bars & restaurants were no longer allowed to serve food indoors. This came after a very crowded week at the bars (TEXAS ARIZONA!) Patrick and Anne had been planning on returning to Hoboken the following morning, but after this news Calvin & Mackenzie suggested they just go to pick up some more clothes and come back up to the cabin to ride out the surge of the virus and the associated restrictions. They were also encouraging Mackenzie’s sister, Delanie, and her boyfriend, Jon (a mutual friend of Calvin, Patrick, and Anne from college) to come up to the cabin for what we thought would just be a few weeks. At this point, there were concerns that the NYC area would enforce lockdown and travel restrictions, preventing people from leaving the area.

Anne and Patrick decided to take up the offer and planned to leave the next morning, Patrick returning the same day with Jon & Delanie en tow, while Anne would stay in Hoboken for the night because she had work to complete at a customer’s plant in NJ on Monday morning.
